ESL Instructor / AI Literacy Instructor – Adult International Students
An established English language school in downtown San Diego is seeking an innovative instructor to teach English language skills while helping international students develop practical AI skills for academic, professional, and everyday use.
We are currently interviewing for both a regular teaching position and ongoing substitute teaching opportunities.
This is not a traditional ESL position. The ideal candidate is comfortable using AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, and other emerging technologies and can demonstrate how these tools can support language learning, communication, research, presentations, productivity, and career development.
Responsibilities: Teach English language classes to adult international students Incorporate AI tools into classroom instruction and projects Teach students how to use AI responsibly and effectively in academic and professional settings Create engaging, communicative, student-centered lessons Track attendance, student progress, and participation Foster a positive and professional learning environment
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required ESL, TESOL, TEFL, CELTA, Linguistics, Education, or related experience preferred Strong understanding of AI tools and prompt writing Comfortable teaching beginners how to use AI applications Excellent communication and presentation skills Professional, reliable, and adaptable
Preferred: Experience teaching adult learners Experience using ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Canva AI, Gamma, or similar tools Interest in international education and emerging technology
