POSITION DETAILS

The Student Success Initiatives unit within the Office of Academic Affairs (OAA) at The City University of New York's (CUNY) Central Office, has oversight of university-wide initiatives that support both prongs of CUNY’s dual mission of access and excellence, spanning the college readiness, college transition, and degree completion continuum. Programs in the portfolio (Accelerated Study in Associate Programs (ASAP), Accelerate, Complete and Engage (ACE), Adult Literacy Program, CUNY Language Immersion Program (CLIP), CUNY Start & Math Start, CUNY EDGE, CUNY Fatherhood Academy) serve approximately 40,000 students annually and operate across multiple campuses, largely under a consortia model that involves partnerships between OAA staff working in close collaboration with participating colleges who operate the programs locally. The unit also supports key University strategic priorities, including transfer and academic advisement, and serves as the business owner of key technology tools, currently CUNY Transfer Explorer, a tool that supports exploration of credit mobility and planning for transfer at CUNY, and EAB Navigate360, the University’s student success platform.

Reporting to the University Director of Student Success Platforms and Data Strategy, the Student Success Technology Specialist advances the effective use, sustained adoption, and strategic alignment of EAB Navigate360 with University-wide initiatives and goals. The Specialist engages with Navigate team leads across CUNY colleges to strengthen system-wide implementation, providing expert guidance, training, and strategic advising to address platform use and adoption challenges. The Specialist develops and maintains Navigate enterprise-level support documentation across platforms, and disseminates best practices and promotes consistent, scalable use of the platform for uniform adoption. Furthermore, the Specialist liaises with vendors and Central Office partners to resolve complex technical and data-related issues and advance opportunities for enhanced data integrations.

In addition to the job summary above and CUNY Title Overview below, other key duties include, but will not be limited to the following:
• Support the implementation of University-defined approaches that advance effective and consistent adoption and use of EAB Navigate360 across CUNY’s colleges.
• Serving as a technical subject matter expert and strategic resource, supporting the resolution of complex technical, data, and integration issues in collaboration with external vendors and internal Central Office partners, balancing immediate operational needs with longer-term system improvements.
• Provides hands- on guidance and technical assistance to campus Navigate leads related to platform configuration, feature utilization, and day-to-day use, in alignment with institutional student success priorities and guidance.
• Monitor, analyze, and summarize platform usage, adoption, and outcome data to identify trends, gaps, and recurring support needs; develop evidence-based recommendations that inform University-level planning and decision-making.
• Support coordinated implementation and rollout of new platform features and enhancements, including assessing institutional readiness, defining implementation approaches, while driving effective adoption.
• Coordinate and support cross-campus communities of practice that advance knowledge sharing, elevate effective practices, and promote consistent and sustainable platform use.
• Develop, standardize, and maintain a resource library of enterprise-level documentation to include best practices, implementation guidance, user guides, FAQs, workflows, and other self-service training resources that support scalable and sustainable platform use.
• Identify and advance opportunities to improve operational practices, data integrations, and governance structures related to student success technologies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

NOTES :
• Until further notice, this position is expected to be on-site 80%, which equates to four days a week.
• This position is contingent on funding to be renewed on an annual basis.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum

Bachelor’s degree and four years’ related experience required.

Preferred
• Advanced degree in Higher Education Administration, Educational Technology, Data Analytics, or a related field.
• Experience delivering consultative, high-touch customer service to education stakeholders through strategic advising, training, and technical guidance in complex organizational environments.
• Ability to analyze platform usage data, adoption, and operational data, including experience working with data visualization or business intelligence tools (e.g. Tableau) to explore trends, monitor usage patterns, and support reporting needs.
• Familiarity with basic SQL querying for data exploration and validation.
• Experience developing and maintaining technical documentation and training resources at scale, including user guides, workflows, FAQ’s, dashboards, and implementation playbooks for diverse end users.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to listen, influence, assess needs, and build consensus across diverse stakeholders, to identify and implement solutions.
• Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment and manage complex initiatives in a self-directed manner.
• Working knowledge of higher education student success strategies and enterprise technology environments.
• Experience with EAB Navigate360 or comparable student success platforms, strongly preferred.
• Strong analytical and technical aptitude, with the ability to quickly learn new systems, tools, and workflows and apply them to operational and support use cases.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The salary range is $74,490 - $82,663 , commensurate with credentials, education and experience.

Effective 9/1/26, salaries will be adjusted by 3.25% in accordance with the terms of the PSC-CUNY collective bargaining agreement for eligible employees.
