About This Job
Provides academic and culture instruction in primary level schools. Designs, implements, and evaluates the impact the language and culture component has on Native students. Supports will be provided to students to ensure they have equitable opportunities. Current research and practices show language/culture embedded in the curriculum for Native students is the primary indicator for student achievement and increase in graduation rate.

What You'll Do
• Designs a Native culture and language curriculum that is relevant and responsive to student’s learning style
• Provides an instruction model immersing students in Native culture to enhance student self-identity
• Provides professional development on subject matter/practices expertise for educators and administrators
• Proactively addresses the racial disparities that exist within school/District opportunity gaps and recommends strategies to address this; acts as a resource and student advocate within the school community
• Empowers students and parents to engage in their students’ education through opportunities and other enrichment and activities offered in the District; identifies opportunities to meaningfully engage parents and communities in District, community, and school based-based issues impacting student achievement
• Creates and/or curates development of units aligned to the rigor and depth of content specific standards
• Develop resources, interventions, and strategies based upon student outcomes and implementation feedback
• Monitors student school progress and intervenes when students are not on track to graduate
• Supports planning and facilitating events for Native American students district-wide, including summer programming events and partnerships.
• Assists or leads staff training at NACE program schools as well as District-wide professional development on Native American learned practices that have been essential to the success of students.
What You’ll Need
• Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field required
• Master's Degree in Education or related field preferred
• 3+ years of Related experience required
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Effective time management and organizational skills
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Effectively handles multiple demands and competing deadlines
• The ability to take responsibility for one’s own performance
• Ability to work collaboratively with school staff, parents, community and agency representatives
• Aptitude for variety and changing expectations in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge and expertise in culturally responsive strategies
• Strong customer service skills
• Understanding the purpose of 506 Form
• Fluency in the Native language being taught is required
• Lead for racial and educational excellence and work to dismantle systems of oppression and inequity in our community, along with believing in and supporting all students so they feel seen and heard with access to high quality education.
• Live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado while working with us.
