Position Overview

Join Concorde Education as an enthusiastic Cooking Instructor and inspire students through engaging after-school cooking classes. This role offers an exciting opportunity to teach foundational culinary skills, kitchen safety, and healthy eating habits through practical, age-appropriate cooking activities. Help students build confidence and independence while they learn to work in teams, follow instructions, and apply basic math and science concepts in a real-world setting.

As an instructor, you will ensure all lessons conform to site policies, supervise responsibly, respect allergy guidelines, and adhere to essential food safety practices. You will guide students through a 10-week course, adjusting the pacing as needed based on student progress and logistical constraints.

What You Will Teach

Throughout the classes, students will master core cooking techniques and kitchen routines, including:
• Safe handling of kitchen tools
• Measuring and following recipes
• Basic food preparation
• Simple cooking methods

Depending on available facilities, activities may include no-cook recipes or limited stove/oven cooking with appropriate supervision. Key instructional elements will focus on hygiene, sanitation, nutrition basics, and responsible kitchen behavior.

Qualifications (Required)
• Minimum of 60 college credits or an Associate degree in progress/completed
• Demonstrated cooking experience and comfort teaching culinary skills
• Experience working with children or youth in structured environments
• Strong facilitation skills and effective communication abilities
• Reliable, punctual, and professional demeanor
• Ability to implement food safety practices in an organized learning environment
