Duties
• Design and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards across subjects such as literacy, math, and social-emotional learning.
• Lead classroom activities that promote active participation, critical thinking, and social skills development.
• Collaborate with families, therapists, and specialists to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities or developmental delays.
• Monitor student progress through assessments, standardized testing, and ongoing observations; adjust instruction accordingly.
• Manage classroom behavior using positive behavioral management techniques to create a safe and inclusive environment.
• Provide mentorship and mentoring to assistant teachers or student teachers, fostering professional growth within the team.
• Incorporate evidence-based practices such as speech therapy techniques, behavioral health strategies, and early intervention methods to support diverse learners.
• Maintain detailed documentation of student development, attendance, IEP goals, and communication logs.
• Engage in ongoing professional development related to childhood development, special education strategies, Montessori or preschool methodologies.
• Facilitate communication with parents and guardians to update them on progress and collaborate on supporting each child's learning journey.
Experience
• Proven classroom experience working with children in early childhood or preschool settings.
• Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development tailored for young learners with diverse needs.
• Strong background in special education practices including working with students with autism or other developmental disabilities.
• Experience conducting speech therapy sessions or behavioral therapy interventions is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with IEP processes, standardized testing procedures, and literacy/math instruction methodologies.
• Prior experience in private schools or Montessori environments is advantageous.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to mentor colleagues and engage effectively with families.

Pay: $17.00 - $21.64 per hour
