NONPUBLIC SCHOOL STAFF PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT STIPEND

POSTING FOR: TITLE I AND TITLE II NONPUBLIC SCHOOL STAFF ONLY

Summary:

The purpose of this stipend is to provide professional development to teachers and principals who work in the nonpublic schools via Title I and Title IIa grant funds. Teacher, principal and applicable staff will attend workshops/trainings that will enhance their ability to improve student outcomes. Workshops/trainings must be supported by evidenced-based practices and align with the approved grant application (Title I and Title IIa). Professional development activities will include but will not be limited to:
• Focus on effective instructional teaching strategies, methods, and skills
• Learn how to integrate technology into curricula and instruction
• Curriculum Writing: Identifying gaps, absences, and redundancies in the curriculum design by taking adequate time to create maps, units of study, etc.
• Work on methods of improving student behaviors, identifying early and appropriate interventions
• Using data and assessments to improve instruction and student outcomes
• Training in effectively integrating technology into curricula and instruction;

Qualifications: Certified Teacher

Education: A valid teaching license K-12. Applicants must meet the highly qualified according to state standards, currently employed at a nonpublic school, and has been referred by the principal at the nonpublic school.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
• Analytical skills to examine student test data and make recommendations for improvement in curriculum and teaching
• Effective writing skills
• Good interpersonal skills to establish effective working relationships with teachers and school administrators
• Creativity- ability to think of new ways to engage students
• Leadership skills to coach teachers on effective instructional strategies
