Elementary PE Teacher – Job Description

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Hours: Part-Time (20-25 hour per week)

Pay: $18-$20 per hour

Responsible to: Elementary School Principal

Purpose: Teacher will design and implement engaging, age-appropriate movement and wellness activities for students in grades K-6, fostering health and fitness while ensuring a safe, inclusive learning environment.

5. Be a person who shows evidence of sound Biblical doctrine in their living

6. Motivate students to accept God’s gift of salvation and be a Christian witness and role model to them to help them grow in their faith

Spiritual Leadership

1. Maintain high ethics, honesty, and integrity in all personal and professional matters

2. Follow the Matthew 18 principle in dealing with conflict with students, parents, staff, and administration

Professional Qualities:

• Lesson Planning: Develop and execute PE lesson plans that promote motor skills, coordination, and physical fitness.

• Instruction: Teach basic rules, strategies, and techniques for various sports, games, and rhythmic activities.

• Student Safety: Maintain a safe, hazard-free environment during all physical activities and ensure proper use of equipment.

• Inclusive Education: Adapt lessons and activities to accommodate students with diverse physical and cognitive abilities.

• Collaboration: Partner with classroom teachers and school staff to support whole-child development and school-wide wellness initiatives.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred

• Experience: Previous experience teaching or coaching elementary-aged children.

• Skills: Excellent classroom management, strong communication skills, CPR certification is a plus.

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
