City Year is an AmeriCorps program committed to ensuring students thrive in schools. Our dedicated teams of AmeriCorps members provide vital support to students, classrooms, and entire schools, fostering high-quality education and strong community engagement.
Your Role and Responsibilities:
• Provide individualized academic coaching and interpersonal development through one-on-one and small group interactions.
• Assist in enhancing literacy and math skills tailored to diverse learning levels, while motivating students to fulfill their assignments.
• Implement a behavior management system to create a nurturing and supportive classroom environment.
• Encourage the development of interpersonal skills throughout the school day using effective teaching methods.
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to track individual student progress, analyze data, and adapt support strategies accordingly.
• Foster a safe and engaging classroom atmosphere in partnership with educators.
• Participate in school-wide activities aimed at boosting student engagement and involving families.
• Support or lead after-school programs and events that celebrate students' achievements academically and behaviorally.

Eligibility Requirements:
• Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.
• Aged 17-25 by July 1, 2025.
• Have a GED, high school diploma, some college experience, or a college degree.
• Have completed no more than three terms in an AmeriCorps state or national program.
• Successfully pass a background check.
• Available to begin service by July/August 2025, depending on location.
