Position: SPECIALIST I, TITLE IX PROGRAM
Job Summary

The Title IX Decision Maker supports the management and implementation of institutional compliance with Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 and other related regulations. This role assists with the coordination of compliance strategies, investigations, training, and outreach efforts to foster an equitable and inclusive school environment free from discrimination or harassment based on sex or gender. The position requires strong interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills and a commitment to ensuring a safe educational setting for all students, staff, and community members.

Qualifications

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in education from a fully accredited institution of higher learning preferred.

• Master's degree in a related field preferred.

Experience Requirements:

• Demonstrated knowledge of Title IX, civil rights law, and investigative processes.

• Experience in a K-12 public school district or other large public-sector organization preferred.

A combination of education and experience may be substituted.

Responsibilities

Compliance and Guidance

The Decision Maker is tasked with making the final determination of responsibility in Title IX investigations. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Provides guidance to families about their rights under Title IX, the grievance procedures, and how to submit an official complaint.

• Receive the investigators
¿ report and complaint file;

• Facilitate the exchange of information between the parties;

• Conduct an impartial review and evaluation of the evidence and apply the evidentiary standard;

• Develop and facilitate training for staff and students;

• Make a determination as to whether a respondent has violated policy;

• Determine appropriates sanctions for responsible parties;

• Issue notice of outcomes with a detailed rationale for the findings;

• Serve as a resource for Title IX processes and procedures;

• Ensure the compliance with grievance procedure timelines;

• Obtain and maintain Title IX certification as the Title IX Coordinator;

• For cases in which they serve as investigator, prepare a detailed investigation report;

• Obtain and maintain Title IX certification as the Title IX Decision
- Maker and Investigator; and

• Other duties as assigned by the Title IX Coordinator.

Procedures & Investigations

• Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) and investigation protocols for Title IX-related cases.

• Coordinate and conduct prompt, fair, and impartial investigations in accordance with federal and state laws, district policies, and best practices.

• Serve as the Decision-Maker in cases where the Deputy Coordinator did not serve as an investigator.

Training & Education
• Design, implement, and facilitate training for students, staff, and administrators on Title IX compliance, reporting procedures, and prevention efforts.
Case Management & Reporting
• Manage and track Title IX cases, ensuring timelines, documentation, and outcomes align with regulatory requirements.
• Configure and maintain the district's case management system to uphold Title IX recordkeeping standards.
• Prepare reports and documentation as needed for internal stakeholders and external agencies.
Collaboration & Leadership
• Partner with Employee Relations in matters involving employee-related Title IX complaints to ensure legal…
