As part of OIG, often referred to as America's watchdogs, you will help ensure that taxpayer dollars used in ED programs are properly managed and reach their intended outcomes. Our work includes conducting audits and reviews of Federal student aid, K-12 schools, charter schools, and more, leading to impactful improvements and legislative changes.

About the Role:
• As a Performance Auditor at the entry-level (GS-7), you will assist in planning and designing Audit Services projects, conduct data analysis and evaluations, assess data quality and internal controls, and prepare essential written reports and documentation.
• As a developmental Performance Auditor (GS-9), you will take on greater responsibilities, assist in project design, contribute to evaluations and data analysis, prepare written work products, and help draw conclusions to meet project objectives.
Specialized Teams:
As part of the Audit Services, you may work within one of these specialized teams:
• Internal Operations Oversight Team: Focused on ED operations and program management, including audits related to contracts and grants.
• Elementary and Secondary Education Oversight Team: Concentrating on Federal education programs, special education, and rehabilitative services.
• Higher Education Oversight Team: Engaging with Federal higher education programs, including student aid and technical education.
