As a CTE Teacher, you will play\r\na pivotal role in transforming the lives of youth by providing them with the\r\nguidance, support, and education they need to overcome obstacles and unlock\r\ntheir full potential. Main Purpose of Job
This is a professional position responsible for providing classroom-based academic instruction to juvenile students in a congregate care facility. Work will involve planning and providing appropriate learning experiences that cover a wide-spectrum of career industries, employment sectors, and vocational training. Instruction will be provided at the basic skills, Middle School, High School and General Educational Development (GED) levels with application to occupational, functional living, and employability skills
POSITION DUTIES

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Possession of appropriate educational credentials as determined by the Maryland State Board of Education. \r\nExperience: None. \r\n
SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS
Must possess a MSDE Secondary Education Educator's Certification\r\nwith an endorsement area of CTE.\r\n\r\n\r\n** Please Note: Candidates who do not immediately meet this\r\nrequirement may become eligible by applying for a Maryland Teaching\r\ncertification at Apply\r\nfor a MSDE Certification.\r\n
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. One year of\r\nteaching experiences to include internship. \r\n2. Taught\r\nin a multi-discipline CTE program and can teach a wide-spectrum of CTE related\r\ncourses.\r\n
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
Teachers in State operated school programs are required to acquire and maintain certification to teach in the State of Maryland per Education Article, Section 6-101 of the Annotated Code and Code of Maryland Regulations (COMAR) 13A.12.01.03B(2). Applicants recommended for appointment will be required to complete an Authorization and Verification of Credentials. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Employees in this classification are subject to\r\nSubstance Abuse Testing in accordance with Code of Maryland Regulation\r\n17.04.09, Testing for Illegal Use of Drugs. Applicants must consent to State\r\nPolice and Child Protective Services (CPS) Investigations/Background Checks as\r\na routine procedure for all employees required to work in State Juvenile\r\nServices Facilities.\r\n \r\nProof of eligibility\r\nto work in compliance with the Immigration Reform and Control Act is required.\r\nIf, once employed, it is determined that the incumbent does not qualify for at\r\nleast a Conditional Certificate, the incumbent's employment will be terminated.\r\nAlso, failure to obtain and maintain the appropriate Maryland Teaching\r\nCertificate will be the basis for termination of employment.\r\n
