Position Summary

The Elementary Math Teacher is a certified educator with a strong background in mathematics who will support student learning and teacher development across grades K-6. This role works collaboratively with an Elementary Math Coach, classroom teachers, instructional assistants, and building teams to enhance mathematics instruction through high-quality teaching, interventions, data analysis, and alignment with district curriculum expectations. The educator in this position plays a key role in strengthening the district's Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) for mathematics.

Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education required; advanced degree or math endorsement preferred.
• Valid Indiana teaching license (Elementary).
• Demonstrated strength and content knowledge in mathematics instruction.
• Experience in small-group instruction, interventions, or co-teaching preferred.
• Knowledge of MTSS frameworks and data-driven instructional practices.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
• Commitment to student success and continuous professional growth.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Instructional Support & Collaboration
• Work collaboratively with the Elementary Math Coach and math instructional assistants to support math instruction.
• Partner with classroom teachers to co-teach lessons and model effective mathematics instructional practices.
• Provide targeted small-group instruction and interventions for students in grades K-6.
• Support teachers in implementing evidence-based instructional strategies aligned to district goals.

Assessment & Data Practices
• Utilize district-approved assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instruction.
• Participate in school-based MTSS meetings, providing data analysis and instructional recommendations to support students who require additional assistance.
• Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and intervention outcomes to ensure effective evaluation and support.

Curriculum Implementation
• Follow district curriculum maps and assessment schedules.
• Implement the district-adopted mathematics curriculum with fidelity.
• Support teachers in integrating the curriculum into daily instruction.

Professional Responsibilities
• Serve as a team player within the school and district, contributing positively to a collaborative culture.
• Engage in continuous professional development focused on improving math instruction and student learning outcomes.
• Communicate effectively with students, staff, and families.
• Demonstrate high motivation, initiative, and commitment to supporting all learners.

Terms of Employment
• Certified contract for 184 days.
• Position is grant-funded through the Lilly Endowment Grant through the school year.
• Salary and benefits aligned with district certified employee compensation guidelines.

Evaluation
• Performance will be evaluated in accordance with district policies for certified staff.
