Head of Secondary School The International School of Texas is conducting a search for an administrative, academic, and cultural leader to serve as Secondary School Head (Grades 6 - 12) beginning in August 2026 or August 2027. The Head of Secondary School reports to the Head of School and is a member of the Senior Leadership Team.
The Secondary
School has around 70 students as part of a 220 student, PK-12 population.
The Division Head supervises, evaluates, and develops approximately 10 faculty and staff members and works collaboratively with team leaders, other division heads, and senior administrators to formulate and implement school policy. He or she sets the tone for the division by reflecting high professional standards, exceptional communication skills, and a demonstrated commitment to excellence within and beyond the classroom.
Start Date: January 2027 or August 2027 (All candidates that have already applied will be considered.)
Position Description
• This is an exempt administrative position that includes occasional evening and weekend responsibilities consistent with school leadership roles.
• Act as the educational leader of the Secondary School, responsible for its day-to-day operation; to direct the activities of the school instructional and the non-instructional staff and monitor the performance of their duties
• Function as the chief articulator of that division's programs, expectations, behavioral guidelines, and other information necessary to ensure that all constituencies are fully informed consistent with their individual roles
• Observe, supervise, and help evaluate faculty in the development and implementation of curriculum
• Oversee and co-direct the activities of the department chairs, the sponsors of various student organizations and activities, and faculty committee
