Midtown Jewish Preschool is a Reggio-inspired preschool community where children’s curiosity, creativity, and individuality are celebrated. We are growing our team and currently hiring for multiple early childhood education positions serving toddlers through PreK.

We are seeking nurturing, collaborative educators who are excited to create meaningful, child-centered learning experiences rooted in play, exploration, relationships, and community.

What You’ll Do

Depending on the role, responsibilities may include:

• Create warm, engaging classroom environments for toddlers and preschoolers

• Support learning through play, exploration, inquiry, and relationship-building

• Foster children’s social-emotional growth and positive peer interactions

• Observe children thoughtfully and plan based on their interests and developmental needs

• Practice positive behavior guidance and responsive classroom management

• Collaborate closely with co-teachers, specialists, and families

• Incorporate Jewish values, traditions, and celebrations in developmentally appropriate ways (for Judaics roles)

• Participate in ongoing professional development, mentorship, and reflective practice

• Help maintain organized, safe, and nurturing classroom spaces

Qualifications

Qualifications vary by role, but ideal candidates may have:

• Experience working with young children in early childhood settings

• CDA, associate’s degree, bachelor’s degree, or coursework in Early Childhood Education or related fields preferred

• VPK certification preferred for PreK General Studies Teacher candidates

• Strong communication skills and English fluency

• Nurturing, collaborative, and reflective approach to teaching

• Reggio-inspired, play-based, or child-centered teaching experience preferred

• Willingness to work within a Jewish school community

We welcome candidates from both traditional and alternative pathways to early childhood education, including emerging educators eager to grow professionally through mentorship and coaching. Research in early childhood Jewish education shows that many successful educators enter the field through nontraditional pathways and thrive with strong support systems and professional development.

Compensation & Benefits

• $42,000–$58,000

• Choice of 10- or 12-month contracts for eligible roles

• All federal/legal holidays off

• All Jewish holidays off

• 5 personal PTO days to start, with 1 additional day added each year of employment

Schedule

Full-time and select part-time opportunities are available, depending on the position.
