InterCoast College is hiring for a qualified substitute Instructor for our HVAC Training Program at our Rancho Cordova, CA campus. InterCoast College has a passion for educating students and helping students achieve their career goals.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
An HVAC instructor’s responsibility is to prepare students to succeed in school and upon graduation when they begin to seek employment in the field of their selected training. The Faculty member uses an approved curriculum and presents coursework that prepares the student to pursue a technical career in the HVAC career field.
The successful candidate is consistently motivating, engaging, mentoring, encouraging, and fundamentally passionate about teaching to help students to gain confidence and skills necessary to obtain entry level employment upon graduation. The successful candidate will be a role model, set an expectation of the profession and deliver quality educational opportunities to our students in a hands-on, practical vocational environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Preparation and delivery of an approved curriculum based on company coursework and lesson plans
• Regularly monitors student attendance and progress
• Maintaining communication with all students at risk; working with students to address any issues that may impede their academic progress and respond to student retention and classroom management issues.
• Promotes a positive academic environment with professional appearance and cultivate cooperative learning by maintaining academic standards
JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• C-20 or Universal Technician or NATE Certification or HVAC Excellence Certification
• 5 years minimum professional and practical experience working in the industry, or its equivalent
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds, climb ladders, bend and squat and be able to carry tools of approximately 25 – 30 pounds on a tool belt.
• Technical expertise in all of the subjects in which the instructor will be teaching.
• Knowledge and understanding of the professional career paths and demands of the field
• Ability to inspire students to the highest level of achievement for meeting employer expectations
• Motivation and enthusiasm for teaching and having a sensitivity to student needs, interests and frailties
*Pay is negotiable based of experience, certifications/licenses, level of education and experience in a school setting.
