Job Scope
Oversees daily operations of multiple departments or campuses within a specific segment of the district. Develops
long- and short-term strategies and oversees the implementation of them. Responsible for implementing cost-
saving procedures while increasing performance using multiple inputs and measuring outputs. Will adhere to the
execution of district-wide policies, procedures, and programs. Manages multiple development and planning
matters within the scope of direction.
Position Summary
Responsible for activities cross a wide array of elements to include establishing goals, planning, designing,
coordinating, implementing, and monitoring of new or existing district initiatives/programs related to leadership
development. This includes the support and coordination of the district’s leadership development programs and
the alignment of strategies with input from university partners, and the TEA, and other internal and external
stakeholders. Provides direct and ongoing leadership to District and school personnel through participation in
consultation, collaboration, professional learning activities, staff evaluation/assessment process, and curriculum
planning and development of district strategies and programs. Managerial functions relate to the orchestration of
tasks and the coordination of systems to carry out the mission and goal achievement, including staff development,
instruction, budget management, curriculum, and compliance with SAISD Leadership Standards. Manages the
delivery of related services by vendors. Directs and maintains data collection for assessment of program
effectiveness. Establishes and maintains partnerships with external organizations, governmental agencies, and
other stakeholders; and serves as a liaison to both internal and external parties on a variety of issues.
Plan, develop, coordinate, implement, establish goals, and assume responsibility for all functions relating to the
district leadership pipeline initiatives under the including support and coordination of the district’s leadership
development.
Essential Functions / Key Responsibilities
1. Design and implement a robust pipeline of aspiring and acting administrators to strengthen the district’s
approach to preparing and inducting new leadership in collaboration with district departments and
project partners
2. Apply research-based best practices for adult learning, leadership development, and induction
3. Lead the development of a leader pathway system in collaboration with district teams to include leader
identification and succession planning
4. Coordinate leadership development programs for new and aspiring leaders in collaboration with
Instructional Superintendents
5. Support the design, implementation, measurement, and coordination of professional learning
opportunities for campus administrators and aspiring administrators aligned to the district’s goals and
objectives
6. Support equity-centered coaching model and mentorship of new assistant principals and principals in
collaboration with School Leadership team
7. Coach at least one principal annually, utilizing the district’s equity centered coaching model
8. Responsible for coordinating the district’s equity efforts across the district and facilitating monthly
meetings comprised of internal and external, representative stakeholders
9. Track grant project milestones and deliverables including budgetary and reporting requirements
10. Coordinate with the grant department and maintain all pertinent documentation in Amplifund
11. Build systems and structures to communicate to stakeholders, internally and externally, about the district
vision and mission related to equity-centered leadership, and project status and accomplishments of
Equity Centered Principal Pipeline Initiative (EPCI) and other related projects
12. Leverage the expertise of professional communication/marketing strategists to establish external
communication, collect grant artifacts, and craft narrative regarding grant initiative
13. Use innovative practices to effectively create multiple opportunities for collaboration and extended levels
of support
14. Serve in a liaison capacity; establishes and maintains partnerships with various external organizations, and
governmental agencies; interacts and works collaboratively with other departments within the District.
15. Determine and acquire data required to accurately evaluate program performance and effectiveness;
utilizes data to report on program results, identify trends and make recommendations for improvement
or new district/ curriculum initiatives.
16. Participate in the development of grant requests and proposals, as appropriate.
17. Develop and revise policies, regulations, curriculum, manual and other materials related to the assigned
program.
18. Develop sustainability plan for all grants to ensure work is able to continue after the grant has expired.
19. Performs other related duties as assigned within the appropriate skill and experience capabilities
expected for this position.
Minimum Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university or 4 years equivalent experience, and
• 3+ years of professional related experience, and
• Progressive leadership experience to include:
o Planning, Organizing, Staffing, Directing, and Managing employees or teams
o Coaching, Mentoring, Developing, and Performance Managing employees or teams
• Leadership in a large, urban school district.
• Candidate must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check. Non-refundable fee
(approximately $50.00) paid by the employee
Preferred Qualifications
• Master’s degree from an accredited college or university
• 10+ years of professional related experience, and
• 6+ years progressive leadership experience to include:
o Planning, Organizing, Staffing, Directing, and Managing employees or teams
• Coaching, Mentoring, Developing, and Performance Managing employees or teams
• Valid Texas Standard Principal or Mid-Management certification, or ability to obtain prior to the start of
the contract year
• District level leadership experience
• Bilingual/Biliterate

Working Conditions
Work Environment:
• Computer, computer software programs and peripherals, teacher resource materials and
equipment, copier, fax, and other equipment applicable to position.
• Frequent exposure to: temperature extremes (hot and cold), humidity extremes, noise. Occasional
exposure to: biological hazards (communicable diseases, bacteria, insects, mold, fungi, etc.
Physical Demands/Requirements:
• Maintain emotional control under stress; work with frequent interruptions/deadlines and prolonged or
irregular hours; Frequent walking, standing, stooping, bending, pulling and pushing; Occasional: Lifting
and carrying 10-25 pounds frequently, 25-40 pounds occasionally, more than 45 pounds infrequently with
assistance; Pushing/pulling 10-35 pounds sporadically; May be required under specific circumstances to
provide physical restraint of students in danger of causing harm to themselves or others; Frequent
districtwide and occasional statewide travel.
Supervisory Responsibilities / Direct Reports
• Manage a staff consisting of both people managers, up to and including "Management" district level roles,
and individual contributors.
