Overview VIRTUAL and FLEXIBLE | Secondary Math Teacher Tutor (up to $36/hr, 8AM-10AM ET) Online part-time tutoring for K-12 students across the United States. This role supports higher pay than many tutoring companies and does not require in-classroom work. The role currently targets teachers with experience in secondary math who can teach lower-level HS math (e.g., Integrated Math 1) and/or ACT prep for 11th graders. Engage with tutoring opportunities ranging from summer programs to remediation support. Commit to engagements that typically run 14 to 30 weeks, with a few hours of weekly involvement. Qualifications Experience teaching Math in the classroom. Experience teaching in an online environment. Working knowledge of Google Classroom and Zoom. Ability to teach lower-level HS math (e.g., Integrated Math 1) and/or ACT prep for 11th graders. Be available 8AM-10AM ET on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Bonus points Experience with remediation, intervention, or small group instruction. Experience with secondary math. SPED or ELL teaching experience. Bi-Lingual. AP course experience (any APs). Dedication to advancing equity in schools. Active teaching credential. Compensation and Engagements Standard compensation is generally $36.00 per hour of tutoring (on a prorated basis) plus a 10% bonus. This total covers the tutoring session, light preparation, and logging in early. For one-hour sessions, this equals $39.60 per session. Rates may be higher for certain secondary math engagements and may vary by engagement. For secondary math, this may increase to $40 per hour. Some engagements where lessons/materials are provided may reduce instructional lift, e.g., about $30–$32 per hour plus a 10% bonus. This is not a full-time role. After admission into the TbT teacher community, you may express interest and accept tutoring engagement opportunities. Pay rates may vary by engagement. Additional information Staffing is not guaranteed; opportunities are distributed as engagements are won and may align with school calendars (semesters, trimesters, or quarters).
