School Nutrition Program Coordinator: School Year
Job Goal: Support the School Nutrition operation by assisting with the operational programs, menu planning and record keeping.
Job Type: ClassifiedJob Class Code: 7224Position Type: HourlyReports to: Director of School Nutrition Terms of Employment: Compensation will be based on 188 contract days on the board approved FPC salary schedule. This position requires a 7-hour work day.
Minimum Qualifications
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred background in institution food service.
• Demonstrated aptitude, competence or training for the assigned responsibilities.
• Must successfully complete the state training curriculum before becoming permanently employed.
• Must successfully complete the SNA Level I Certification training curriculum within the second year of employment.
Physical Requirements
• Employee must be able to push, pull, carry and lift large and/or heavy items up to 40 pounds.
• Employee must have the ability to bend, twists, reach, stoop and climb.
• Employee must be able to perform physical labor.
Performance Responsibilities
• Have current knowledge of program rules, regulations and requirements.
• Menu Planner; have current knowledge of Federal and State Regulations concerning new menu requirements or the ability to learn. Be able to process menus through state software program.
• Work with managers to develop recipes in compliance with Federal and State Regulations.
• Develop Student Advisory councils in the selected schools, as assigned by DSN
• Advise school nutrition personnel on approved procedures for program operation.
• Assist school nutrition site managers in preparing work schedules and assigned duties for cafeteria personnel.
• Assist in training of new school nutrition managers.
• Attend meetings as related to school nutrition operations and activities.
• Complete clerical and program management duties as assigned by the DSN.
• Assist with processing Free and Reduce applications.
• Become a certified trainer for new employees, according to state school nutrition certification guidelines.
• Complete monitor reviews for each school - Kentucky State, USDA and internal. Submit written reports
to DSN on recommendations.
Assure that assigned schools maintain Oldham County School Nutrition Standards.
• Have knowledge of the current Point-of-Sale (POS) program or the ability to learn.
• Other duties as assigned to assure a high-quality lunch program.
