Job Description

Seeking an experienced Special Education professional for a long-term substitute role supporting high school students. This full-time contract position covers the start of the 2026/2027 academic year through Thanksgiving and offers the chance to work in a dynamic, collaborative educational environment focused on student achievement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver targeted reading intervention and executive functioning support for a caseload of high school students, primarily those with learning disabilities

• Provide instructional support and academic accommodations in a special education setting

• Implement and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) to ensure that goals are consistently met

• Work seamlessly with staff and integrate into the existing educational team to enhance student learning outcomes

Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid Minnesota Special Education Teaching License required; Learning Disabilities (LD) licensure highly preferred

• Demonstrated experience working with high school learners in special education settings

• Strong background in reading intervention and executive functioning support

• Familiarity with IEP implementation, progress monitoring, and delivering academic accommodations

• Ability to adapt quickly to new environments and collaborate effectively with educators, students, and families

• Preferred: direct experience with executive functioning needs, high school SPED roles, and reading support interventions

This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM. The assignment is conveniently located near Minneapolis, MN and provides an excellent opportunity to make a direct impact during a critical time in the academic year.
