Responsibilities

• Utilize various teaching methods and educational technology tools to enhance understanding and retention of mathematical principles

• Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative evaluations, providing constructive feedback to support growth

• Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment

• Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, instructional strategies, and assessment practices to ensure consistency and excellence in teaching

• Support students’ individual learning needs through tutoring, differentiated instruction, and mentoring

• Prepare students for standardized testing by designing practice exercises and review sessions that build confidence and mastery in key areas of math

• Engage with parents and guardians through conferences and communication channels to discuss student progress and address concerns

Experience

• Proven classroom experience teaching middle school mathematics or related grade levels with demonstrated success in fostering student achievement

• Strong knowledge of core mathematical disciplines including algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, organic chemistry (for interdisciplinary connections), biochemistry (for science integration), genetics (for interdisciplinary projects), molecular biology (for STEM initiatives), microbiology (for science literacy), differential equations, discrete math, and cell biology

• Experience designing curriculum that incorporates instructional design principles and leverages learning technology tools

• Skilled in classroom management techniques that promote positive behavior and engagement among diverse student populations

• Familiarity with standardized testing procedures and effective preparation strategies

• Background in higher education teaching or tutoring at the middle or high school level is preferred

• Experience working with students with special education needs or implementing behavior management strategies is advantageous

• Knowledge of research laboratory practices or science research methods is a plus for interdisciplinary projects or STEM programs
