Position Title

IEP Aide/Student Support Aide

Reports To

Program Director/Clinical Supervisor/Educational Coordinator

Position Summary

The IEP Aide provides direct one-on-one and/or classroom support to students with individualized educational and behavioral needs in accordance with their Individualized Education Program (IEP). The aide works collaboratively with teachers, behavioral health professionals, parents/guardians, and school personnel to support the student’s academic, behavioral, social, and emotional development within the educational setting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Provide direct support to students in classroom and school settings based on IEP goals and accommodations
• Assist students with maintaining focus, task completion, organization, and classroom participation
• Support implementation of behavioral intervention plans and positive behavior support strategies
• Monitor and document student behaviors, progress, and daily activities as required
• Assist students during transitions, lunch periods, recreational activities, and other school-related functions
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, school administrators, and parents/guardians regarding student progress and concerns
• Support social skills development and peer interaction
• Provide de-escalation support during behavioral crises when necessary
• Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA, FERPA, and organizational policies
• Attend trainings, supervision sessions, and staff meetings as required
• Ensure timely and accurate completion of documentation and incident reports

Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED required
• Associate degree in Education, Psychology, Human Services, Behavioral Health, or related field preferred
• Minimum of 1 year of experience working with children or adolescents with behavioral, emotional, developmental, or learning challenges preferred
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
• Ability to work collaboratively within school and clinical environments
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel to school locations as needed

Preferred Experience
• Experience working with children with ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, emotional disabilities, or behavioral challenges
• Experience within school settings, special education programs, or behavioral health environments
• Knowledge of IEP processes and behavioral intervention techniques
• CPI, CPR, First Aid, or behavioral management certifications preferred

Work Environment
• School-based setting
• May require standing, walking, lifting, and assisting students throughout the school day
• Exposure to behavioral crises and high-stress situations may occur

Schedule
• Full-time and part-time opportunities available
• Hours generally follow the local school system schedule
