KIPP Atlanta Schools is part of the KIPP (Knowledge is Power Program) national network of free, open enrollment, college preparatory schools dedicated to ensuring that every child grows up free to create the future they want for themselves and their communities. There are 280 KIPP schools in 21 states and the District of Columbia serving more than 175,000 scholars and alumni. Job Overview:

The Advancement Associate for Database, Research, and Prospect Management plays a critical support role within KIPP Atlanta's Impact team, ensuring the organization's development infrastructure is data-driven, well-organized, and strategically positioned for growth. Reporting to the Individual Giving Manager, this role is responsible for managing KIPP Atlanta's donor database, conducting prospect research, supporting event logistics, and contributing to cross-functional collaboration that strengthens the overall development operation. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who is passionate about the intersection of data, strategy, and mission-driven fundraising.

Job Responsibilities:

Database Management

60%

• Lead, manage, and strengthen KIPP Atlanta's utilization of Salesforce transition from Blackbaud Raiser's Edge, ensuring accurate and consistent tracking of donor contacts, gifts, appeals, and communication touchpoints.

• Generate accurate and timely reports from the database for internal and external use, collaborating with the finance team to ensure data integrity and proper gift reconciliation.

• Utilize tools within Blackbaud CRM to track all appeals and communications touchpoints in a consistent and organized manner.

• Train and support development team members on Raiser's Edge best practices, including data entry standards, hygiene protocols, and reporting functions.

• Conduct regular database audits, including de-duplication, address updates, and record cleaning to maintain the highest level of data accuracy.

• Store and maintain grant agreements, key documents, and meeting notes within Raiser's Edge to ensure organized and accessible recordkeeping.

• Assist in the acknowledgment of gifts and pledges, including matching gifts and employee giving programs, ensuring donors are recognized in a timely and accurate manner.

Prospect Research & Pipeline Support

• Conduct research on individual, corporate, and foundation prospects to identify new funding opportunities and support the development of a strong donor pipeline.

• Prepare detailed donor research reports, wealth screenings, and prospect profiles to equip frontline fundraisers and organizational leadership with actionable insights.

• Utilize prospect research tools and Raiser's Edge to support a moves management framework that tracks donor cultivation and engagement across the pipeline.

• Analyze giving trends, philanthropic interests, and capacity indicators to inform fundraising strategies and portfolio management.

• Maintain a comprehensive and current grant calendar, tracking deadlines, reporting requirements, and key development deliverables.

• Assist in drafting grant proposals and development materials including case statements, donor impact reports, and fundraising campaign literature.

• Stay current on best practices in prospect research, data analysis, and donor management to continuously strengthen KIPP Atlanta's research function.

Event Planning & Management

• Support the planning and execution of development events throughout the year, including vendor management, logistics coordination, and timeline oversight, to acquire, engage, and steward donors and prospects.

• Monitor all development event timelines and content to ensure timely and accurate completion.

• Coordinate donor engagement logistics including school tours, scheduling for external partners, and preparation of event materials.

• Assist in the coordination of funder and board member information for grant applications and donor-facing events.

Job Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree required.

• Minimum 3 years knowledge in database management, Sales force information systems.

• Knowledge of greater Atlanta community with ties to communities preferred

• Demonstrated ability to support cross-functional team members through data training, resource sharing, and knowledge transfer, with a track record of building others' capacity to effectively utilize development systems and tools such as Salesforce and Raiser's Edge.

• Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to solve complex problems and implement solutions, an ability to manage both the big picture and the details, and a strong sense of judgment.

• Proven track record of meeting deadlines and the ability to be flexible and adapt to changing priorities, multi-task, work in a fast-paced demanding environment, operate effectively with ambiguity, and willing to learn and take on new responsibilities.

• Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills and ability to build meaningful relationships quickly.

• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop relationships with a diverse group of key stakeholders.

Compensation & Benefits:

Compensation for this role is between $55,000 - $80,000. The starting pay will depend on various factors that may include but are not limited to professional experience, education, training, and certifications.

Location & Work Conditions:

This position requires:

• This role requires schedule flexibility; work hours vary based on campus needs and may include evenings and occasional weekends.

• This position has hybrid flexibility but does require regular presence on campus and in schools and in required meetings around the region; Must be based in Atlanta

• This position requires routine physical activity associated with normal office environments.

• This position may require the ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds.

• Ability to engage in school-based activities requiring standing, walking, and mobility
