Job Description
Birch Tree Therapies is seeking a full-time Occupational Therapist to join our therapist-centered team for the 2026–2027 school year at a K–4 elementary school.
We are a therapist-owned and operated company, built by school-based clinicians who understand what this job actually looks like day-to-day. That means no unrealistic expectations, no impossible caseloads, and no feeling like you’re on your own. We’ve created the kind of work environment we wished existed when we first entered the field.
Whether you’re an experienced school-based OT or someone looking to transition into schools, you will be supported here. If you’re motivated, reflective, and want to learn, we will teach you everything you need to feel confident and successful.
About the Role
You will support elementary students in accessing their education, building independence, and participating meaningfully in their school day. This includes collaboration with teachers, integrating into classroom routines, and using strengths-based, neurodiversity-affirming approaches.
What Makes This Position Unique
• One school site – no traveling between locations
• Strong mentorship available (especially for therapists new to schools)
• Paid documentation time built into your schedule
• Realistic caseloads and expectations
• Leadership that understands the clinical and emotional demands of school-based work
What You’ll Do
• Provide student-centered, strengths-based occupational therapy services
• Conduct evaluations, re-evaluations, and screenings
• Develop and implement meaningful, functional IEP goals
• Collaborate closely with teachers, families, and school teams
• Support regulation, participation, and independence in natural classroom settings
• Maintain organized and timely documentation
Who We’re Looking For
• Licensed PA Occupational Therapist
• NBCOT certified
• Open to both experienced therapists and clinicians new to school-based practice
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Committed to neurodiversity-affirming and trauma-informed care
• Willingness to learn, reflect, and grow
Compensation & Benefits
Our W-2 packages are individualized based on your needs and may include:
• Competitive salary
• Health insurance options
• Paid time off
• Paid documentation time
• Stipends for materials, travel, and continuing education
• Short-term disability
• Retirement packages
• Mentorship and ongoing support
• Opportunities for growth within the company
