The Academic Leadership Coordinator plays a crucial role in fostering the academic success of students and creating an environment that promotes effective teaching and learning. This position focuses on the recruitment, mentorship, and development of instructional staff while ensuring the school meets its outlined objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
• Recruit, hire, and mentor high-quality educational staff to enhance school performance.
• Lead initiatives aimed at fulfilling school enrollment and attendance targets.
• Support the Principal in creating a positive school climate and implementing evidence-based instructional strategies.
• Oversee core academic programs to ensure they align with educational standards.
• Establish clear accountability measures for staff performance while ensuring compliance with organizational policies.
• Design and implement professional development programs to support staff training needs.
• Analyze school data to monitor and elevate student academic outcomes continuously.
• Conduct regular evaluations of staff performance to nurture a culture of improvement.
• Drive efforts to meet accountability metrics, including contractual and regulatory requirements.
• Create a conducive environment for learning through innovative instructional practices.
• Assume full responsibility for the school in the Principal's absence, prioritizing the welfare of students and staff.
• Build effective communication channels with all stakeholders, promoting engagement with the school's mission and achievements.
• Perform additional responsibilities as needed to ensure student educational and behavioral objectives are met.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
• Understanding of educational administration and school management principles.
• Familiarity with secondary education principles and curriculum development.
• Proficient in assessing and utilizing data to drive educational improvements.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Able to foster collaborative relationships with staff and community stakeholders.
• Experience in technology-rich educational environments.
• Proficient in productivity software like Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Education and Experience Requirements:
• Master’s Degree from an accredited institution is required.
• Must possess or be eligible for state administrative or educational leadership certification by the end of the first year of employment.
• A valid state teaching certificate is required if seeking administrative certification.
• Minimum of three years of experience in instructional or supervisory leadership roles.
• At least three years of teaching experience is necessary.
• An additional five years of professional experience working with at-risk youth is preferred.
