LOCATION: 8990 York Street, Thornton, CO 80229 -North Valley School for Young Adults
PAY RANGE: Licensed Salary Schedule, $60,004 - $124,634 Annual Salary
CALENDAR: 190 Days
REPORTS TO: School Director/Principal
SCHOOL DESIGN OVERVIEW:
North Valley School for Young Adults offers students ages 17-21 a new educational pathway to success by providing an opportunity to get back on track and graduate with a high school diploma. Students are supported in achieving their post-secondary goals through personalized graduation plans and small classroom settings. North Valley is a place for students who may have encountered obstacles to high school success and are ready to recommit themselves to school and developing new work habits and skills. Students contribute to a positive school community culture through their voice, leadership, attendance, and active participation in the classroom, school, and District activities.
Due to the small size, teachers at North Valley teach both content and elective classes and may have an expanded instructional role.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Colorado teaching license with an appropriate Social Studies endorsement required.
• Additional endorsement in Special Education, Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education and/or Reading Specialist preferred, *or willingness to pursue endorsement or equivalent coursework*
• Experience serving at-risk populations, either at an AEC or a Title I school, is preferred
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/REQUIREMENTS:
• Design differentiated instruction and support at-risk learners with instructional best practices.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement wraparound support for students.
• Demonstrate cultural competence and an understanding of trauma informed care.
• Support and implement post-secondary planning & career guidance with students in an advisory setting.
• Support students with strategies to build resiliency, improve executive functioning and develop work habits and skills.
• Communicate regularly with stakeholders regarding students' academic and social emotional needs.
Collaborative Processes and Guidance Systems Development:
• Participate in MTSS, Instructional Design Teams (PLCs), Instructional Leadership Team and other collaborative groups that promote student success.
• Collaborate to ensure all internal and external documentation and communication processes are effective.
• Consistently develop and maintain professional relationships with students, families, and colleagues in support of students.
• Demonstrate adaptability to changing conditions.
Assessment/Data Responsibilities
• Actively participate in analyzing student achievement data to inform instruction and support systems.
• Organize and maintain up-to-date data in a student-friendly format.
• Follow school and district expectations for student assessment, including administration of local and state assessments.
TRAINING:
• Mandatory Title IX training is required by the Colorado Department of Education and for all public school employees. Title IX training addresses harassment, discrimination, and bullying. Completing these mandatory Title IX training courses ensure we are meeting state requirements while continuing to foster a culture of safety and belonging across our schools.
• You will have two mandatory training courses that must be completed within 30 days of your date of hire and are required to be completed on your own time.
