General Description:

The All Children Ready Coach will train and support teams of PreK and K-2 educators and leaders at various Early Childhood sites to improve outcomes for students. They will develop and provide training for families and caregivers while collaborating with site and organization leaders to integrate work into the existing programming to improve Kindergarten Readiness and support enrollment. The position requires learning quickly and managing multiple tasks simultaneously.

Coaching Role:

1. Deep Knowledge of Early Childhood Development

• Understand academic and developmental milestones for 3-5-year-old students

• Possess a comprehensive understanding of the Science of Reading, early literacy, and numeracy skill progressions

• Familiar with PreK curricula and Maryland College and Career Ready Standards (PreK - 2nd)

• Model appropriate instructional practices for young children

3. Coaching and Adult Learning

• Build trust and rapport with educators and leaders

• Apply Continuous Improvement methods; use questioning, feedback, and reflection to promote growth

• Provide differentiated support for adult learning through one-on-one and team Improvement coaching

4. Data Literacy

• Support educators in analyzing data and attending to variation

• PreK & K-2 DIBELS data

• Support educators in using data to inform small and whole-group instruction and plan for instructional changes

• Guide change implementation and measure impact

5. Communication and Interpersonal Skills

• Communicate clearly and positively with educators, paraprofessionals, and leaders

• Practice active listening

• Navigate sensitive topics with professionalism and empathy

6. Leadership

• Align coaching work with site, school, and district goals

• Ensure the All Children Ready work is actively occurring at sites via routine touchpoints and documentation

• Is proactive in all aspects of the work; thinks ahead to identify potential barriers, and looks for opportunities to grow and spread positive change

7. Community Outreach and Cultural Awareness

• Recognize and value the diversity of Baltimore

• Engage respectfully with all stakeholders and the community

• Facilitate and engage in community-building activities and partner events

Specific Responsibilities:

• Manage partner-based programs that support the mission of Improving Education

• Develop and lead professional learning sessions for educators and families to support student success

• Apply continuous improvement methodology to coach educators and school teams to use data, identify challenges, and test changes to improve outcomes for students

• Facilitate data huddles focused on learning and adapting instruction with educators and site leadership

• Generate new ideas for improvement with educator teams that can be tested and measured to improve outcomes

• Model, co-plan, and co-teach lessons with educators

• Prepare materials, and align resources to support small and whole group instruction

• Observe educator teams and provide feedback

• Document daily and weekly progress of early childhood sites and schools, and identify areas for improvement

• Support the organization's growth through positive interactions with educators, schools, and the community

• Other duties as required by the program, or requested by the All Children Ready Director or CEO

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in education or related field required

• Master’s degree in education or related field preferred

• 5 years working in education or a related field

• Minimum of 3 years of experience working with the birth through grade 3 population

• Minimum of 2 years working in a leadership role

• Experience coaching or training teachers and/or school staff

Location:

1100 N. Chester St or 145 W. Ostend St., Baltimore, MD

*Regular local travel to schools and sites required

Work Hours and Expectations:

This is an exempt position with an expectation of 40 hours of (in-office or in-school) work per week. It is not eligible for overtime, and normal operating hours are between 8 AM and 4 PM (EST). Some evening and weekend work may be required to meet the needs of the All Children Ready program.

Benefits:

The salary range for this full-time, in-person, exempt position is between $80,000 - $95,000 however, compensation is commensurate with experience and qualifications. Comprehensive benefits package included.
