Copilot Careers is actively hiring Substitute Teaching Assistant for immediate openings across multiple school districts. In this position, you will assist classroom teachers and help maintain a positive learning environment, ensuring students receive continued academic support throughout the school day.
Role and Responsibilities:
In the Substitute Teaching Assistant role, you will help maintain an organized classroom setting when regular staff are away. Your responsibilities include supporting daily instruction, classroom routines, and student engagement to ensure learning continues without disruption.
• Help reinforce classroom expectations by keeping students focused and monitoring the completion of assignments.
• Offer academic support by answering student questions and assisting with classwork.
• Promote safe and respectful behavior to maintain a positive classroom atmosphere.
• Follow teacher instructions and assist with planned lessons and classroom activities.
• Supervise students during lunch, recess, hallways, or school-related events.
• Prepare instructional materials, organize supplies, and provide general classroom assistance.
• Support students with special needs under teacher or administrative direction.
• Report concerns, incidents, injuries, or illnesses to appropriate school staff.
• Carry out additional tasks as needed to support daily school operations.
Required Skills and Experience:
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience working with children or in a classroom setting is helpful but not required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to reinforce classroom behavior expectations and maintain a positive environment.
• Patience, adaptability, and comfort working with diverse groups of students.
• Basic understanding of classroom routines and instructional support.
• Commitment to helping students develop socially and academically.
• Proficiency in English, including reading, writing, and speaking.
• Must pass a background check and criminal history clearance.
