Job Description

Title: Grounds Maintenance Technician

Qualifications
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Minimum three to five years’ experience in grounds maintenance preferred.
• Ability to operate and maintain a commercial-grade mower, and other related equipment.
• Knowledge of irrigation equipment operations
• Ability to safely operate and maneuver a truck with trailer loaded with mower and equipment.
• Comply with all safety rules and regulations of trade.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
• Willing to occasionally perform work in poor weather conditions.

Reports to: Director of Maintenance and Maintenance Supervisor

Performance Responsibilities
• Assume primary responsibility for the maintenance and safe condition of all Fort Mill School District sports fields playing surfaces, irrigation systems and immediate surrounding areas as required.
• Recommend and maintain supplies and equipment required to support all Fort Mill School District sport fields and irrigation systems.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by the Director or Maintenance Supervisor.

Terms of Employment: 240 days per year, 8 hours per day, Non-exempt, FMSD M2 Salary Schedule posted on website. Salary commensurate with education and experience based on district formula.

Evaluation: Performance on this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the board’s policy on evaluation of non-certified personnel.
