Minimum 1+ years Paraprofessional or Special Education experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Support students with diverse learning and behavioral needs as a dedicated paraprofessional in a dynamic school district in North Kansas City, Missouri. This per diem contract role offers flexible work opportunities across multiple elementary, middle, and high schools, providing valuable assistance in Special Education classrooms. Ideal for candidates experienced in behavior support, classroom aide duties, and working one-on-one with students requiring behavior intervention plans (BIPs).
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist students with behavioral and educational support in Special Education settings.
• Implement behavior intervention plans and provide toileting assistance as needed.
• Support teachers in classroom activities and contribute to a positive learning environment.
• Engage with students one-on-one or in small groups based on individual needs.
• Respond to daily substitute paraprofessional call-outs via the Spindle app and select shifts accordingly.
Qualifications:
• Active substitute or paraprofessional certification from DESE required prior to start.
• Previous school experience, particularly with students exhibiting behavioral needs.
• Willingness to complete district-specific fingerprinting for employment verification.
• Ability to work 1 to 5 days per week with varying hours based on school level: Middle school: 7:00 AM 2:30 PM High school: 7:30 AM 3:00 PM Elementary school: 8:30 AM 4:00 PM or 9:00 AM 4:30 PM
Location:
• North Kansas City, Missouri, covering up to 33 schools primarily serving elementary students.
