Long-Term Substitute Chemistry Teacher: First Semester 2026-2027 School Year JOB SUMMARY Valley Catholic High School is seeking an experienced Chemistry teacher to serve as a long-term substitute for the first semester of the 2026-2027 school year (August 24, 2026 - January 15, 2027). This position will teach courses within the Science Department, which may include: AP Chemistry General Chemistry Advanced Chemistry GENERAL INFORMATION This is a temporary, full-time position for the first semester only Compensation will be based on experience and aligned with school guidelines for long-term substitute roles Position begins August 2026, with potential onboarding prior to the start of the school year QUALIFICATIONS Full time Minimum BA degree in Chemistry or related field; MAT or advanced degree preferred High school teaching experience required; AP-level experience preferred Ability to obtain or hold Oregon teaching certification and appropriate endorsements Strong background in chemistry content and laboratory instruction Successful completion of a background check and authorization to work in the United States KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES Ability to teach a range of chemistry courses, including AP-level curriculum Strong understanding of instructional best practices and assessment strategies Experience using learning management systems and instructional technology Ability to collaborate effectively with department members and faculty Commitment to supporting a diverse student body Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, student-centered approach APPLICATION DEADLINE: Open until filled This is a non-management position This is a temporary position
