Job Description

A school is seeking an Intervention Specialist for the 2025-2026 school year to provide specialized support to Kindergarten and 1st grade students with Autism in a resource room setting. This contract position is located in Columbus, OH, with a start date as soon as possible and continuing through May 2026.

The successful candidate will work closely with two instructional assistants to create and implement individualized education plans that address varied behaviors and learning needs. This role requires patience, flexibility, and experience in special education, particularly with young learners on the autism spectrum.

Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver targeted instruction to Kindergarten and 1st grade students with Autism within a resource room environment
• Collaborate effectively with instructional assistants and other school staff to support student progress
• Develop and implement individualized strategies to address behaviors and learning objectives
• Maintain detailed records of student progress and communicate regularly with parents and team members

Qualifications and Experience:
• Valid Special Education teaching credentials
• Experience working with young children with Autism
• Strong classroom management and behavioral intervention skills
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team

This role offers a 35-hour workweek with a supportive school environment. Both in-person and virtual interviews will be conducted to accommodate applicants.
