Chinese Immersion Elementary Lead Teacher

Little Tiger seeks a Lead Elementary Teacher to lead a homeroom in an authentic Chinese immersion environment. Candidates must possess native-level fluency in Mandarin Chinese and excellent English communication and writing skills.

Located in the North Loop neighborhood of Austin, Texas, Little Tiger is a Chinese immersion school spanning pre-k through 5th Grade. The school consists of 120+ beloved students, 30 committed teachers and administrators, and a highly engaged parent community.

About the Position:

Starting in August 2026, the teacher will serve as a homeroom lead and teach elementary students in a Chinese immersion setting.

The teacher’s primary responsibility will be to lead an elementary homeroom and collaborate closely with colleagues in the Elementary Division. In addition to homeroom leadership, the teacher will also be responsible for subject-area instruction, which may include Chinese Language Arts, Math, or other subjects. All instruction is conducted in Chinese.

The ideal candidate will possess:
• Mandarin Chinese fluency.
• English fluency, including strong writing skills.
• Bachelor’s degree (or Masters/PhD) in education, early childhood education, TCFL, TESOL, linguistics, or related field.
• Familiarity with current theories and practices related to immersion and dual-language education.
• At least two years working experience as a full time classroom teacher in an accredited elementary school in the US. Bilingual or immersion education settings strongly preferred.
• Collaborate with colleagues to design and implement innovative curriculum.
• Meet the needs of each student in a low-ratio, highly individualized learning environment.
• Contribute to a positive learning and work atmosphere.
• Evaluate and assess student learning on a regular basis.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, staff and community members in both Chinese and English.

Salary: starting $57,000/yr, based on experience (at least two years working experience as a full time classroom teacher in an accredited elementary school in the US. )
