Job Description
The Neshaminy School District is seeking Special Education Teachers for its anticipated Emotional Support positions at the Neshaminy High School. These positions are anticipated to start in August 2026 for the 26-27 school year.
Salary and benefits are consistent with the NFT collective bargaining agreement, which can be found on the Neshaminy.org website under Human Resources.
Qualifications include a valid PA certification for K-12 Special Education. Positions may be posted with a specific special education focus or program area. Teachers are hired as special education teachers within the district so that assignments can be adjusted as student needs evolve from year to year. Special Education teachers in all roles are tasked with providing appropriate learning experiences for all assigned students.
Other essential job duties, include, but are not limited to:
• Providing specialized instruction and academic support to students with disabilities in inclusive, small-group, or individual settings.
• Developing, implementing, and monitoring Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 Plans, as well as compliance with all applicable legal and school district timelines and documentation requirements.
• Collecting and analyzing student performance data to monitor progress and adapt instruction.
• Communicating effectively with parents/guardians and other stakeholders.
• Assisting students with emotional and behavioral needs with appropriate instruction in social and emotional skills development and functional behavior support.
• Working with behavior analysts and related services providers to support students in the emotional support program.
• Development and implementation of Positive Behavior Support Plans when necessary.
• Ability to manage a self-contained classroom and work with general education teachers which may also support students.
• Experience working with students with emotional support needs is preferred.
Applicants must be in good standing with Act 48 credits. Neshaminy School District requires a valid Child Abuse Clearance, FBI clearance, PA State Police Criminal Check, and completed Act 168 forms for all employees before they may begin work.
