New Hire Experience:
1% of the base hourly rate granted for each year of verified like experience (within ten years) beyond the requirement, up to a ten-year maximum

Job Summary:
To establish and maintain personnel payroll records for certificated or classified district personnel to ensure accurate and timely data entry and retrieval of district personnel information; and to maintain personnel data files to support human resources services.
Key Responsibilities:
• Establish and maintain personnel payroll records and data files for certificated or classified district personnel (i.e. hourly, biweekly and supplemental)
• Process Personnel Action Request Forms (PARs) for accurate and timely data entry to ensure the completion of the personnel component for the payroll process
• Monitor changes and adjustments to personnel payroll records to ensure accurate and timely payment to district personnel
• Maintain and monitor iVisions personnel data files that compile and support the personnel payroll records to ensure accurate data entry and retrieval of district personnel information
• Establish and maintain position numbers and job codes to coordinate with TimeClockPlus timekeeping system
• Create queries, with various levels of complexity, to proof data entry for accuracy and timeliness, provide analysis of employee data (current and historical) and various statistical data to support human resources services and for district, state and federal reporting purposes
• Run a variety of programs and reports to update and maintain personnel payroll records and master files, reconcile errors, print employment contracts and rehire lists to ensure appropriate placement on salary schedule and distribution of compensation
• Regular and on-time attendance required
• Perform other related duties, as assigned, to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit
• Assist other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities
• Assists with other assigned duties as appropriate to the area of assignment and Mesa Public Schools
Required Qualifications:
• High School education or equivalent
• Minimum two years data entry experience
• Working knowledge and experience with iVisions preferred
Preferred Qualifications:
• Human resources/payroll experience

• Moderate proficiency in typing, with good accuracy; excellent test battery; high math aptitude
• Intermediate computer proficiency to include use of Microsoft Word and Excel software applications

• Ability to organize, prioritize and meet deadlines with accurate attention to detail while working with frequent interruptions and minimum supervision
• Ability to effectively communicate (verbal and written) with applicants, district personnel of all levels and general public
• Working knowledge of data processing techniques and query writing
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
• Most of the work is done in an office within the district’s central administration building or HR department
• Regular interaction with HR personnel, payroll, IT, principals, and sometimes external agencies. Must be comfortable working both independently and collaboratively
• Heavy use of HR Information Systems (HRIS), spreadsheets, databases, and email
• Mostly seated at a desk, involving long periods of computer use
• While deadlines and data accuracy are critical, the physical work environment tends to be calm and structured
• May need to lift or carry office supplies or documents, typically not exceeding 20 pounds
