Job Description
A full-time Special Education Teacher position is available, focusing on supporting students with autism in a school district located in the Denver Area, Colorado. This travel role will require onsite presence at assigned schools starting in August 2026 through May 2027. The position involves working with new classrooms for the Non-Severe Young (NSY) Autism program, specifically catering to students with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver specialized instruction tailored to students with autism according to their Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and families to develop and implement effective strategies and supports.
• Participate in ongoing assessments and progress monitoring to ensure student growth.
• Maintain accurate records and comply with district policies and state regulations.
• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Qualifications and Experience:
• Active Colorado Department of Education (DOE) certification in Special Education.
• Prior experience working with autism populations within school districts is required.
• Ability to manage caseloads effectively and implement evidence-based practices.
• Successful completion of background checks and fingerprinting as mandated by the district.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Additional Details:
• Location: Denver Area, CO (onsite only).
• Schedule: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
• Assignment: One school initially, with potential for multiple placements as classrooms expand.
• Interviews are being conducted now in anticipation of the 2026-2027 school year.
