Join City Year as an Academic Success Mentor!
City Year is a transformative AmeriCorps program dedicated to supporting students in achieving their academic goals. As an Academic Success Mentor, you will become a pivotal part of a team that helps create a high-quality educational environment, empowering students to thrive and positively impact their communities.
Your Role:
In this full-time position, you will coach and mentor students from elementary through high school. Your efforts will focus on enhancing academic success, improving attendance, and fostering positive behavior. You will engage with students individually and in groups, collaborating closely with teachers and school staff.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide individualized support and academic coaching in literacy and math.
• Implement effective behavior management strategies to promote a conducive learning environment.
• Encourage student engagement through collaboration and interactive group activities.
• Assist in creating a safe and dynamic classroom atmosphere alongside teachers.
• Contribute to school-wide initiatives aimed at increasing student and family involvement.

Eligibility Requirements:
• Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.
• Aged between 17-25 by July 1, 2025.
• Possess a GED, high school diploma, or equivalent education level.
• Complete a background check and be ready to begin service by July/August 2025.
