Charter One works with schools across the country to provide all-inclusive education management services. At Charter One we pride ourselves on our thorough knowledge of charter school operations, academics, finance, human resources, information technology, marketing, and more. We handle the day-to-day work so that client school boards can focus on governance and policy issues to be sure that the vision and mission of the school are being carried out properly.
American Leadership Academy is now accepting applications for a PE Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year for our campuses located in the East Valley. Candidates must possess, or be willing to obtain, a valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• •Implement lesson plans that align with the curriculum and educational standards.
• Provide opportunities for students to experience a variety of physical activities across multiple domains (individual sports, team sports, lifetime fitness, etc.).
• Engage students in developmentally appropriate physical activities, sports, fitness challenges, and movement-based projects that build motor skills, and athletic competence.
• Set clear learning objectives and assess student progress toward these goals.
• Establish and maintain a positive, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment.
• Implement effective classroom management strategies to ensure a productive learning atmosphere.
• Address behavioral issues promptly and appropriately, in line with school policies.
• Maintain a safe, well-maintained physical environment by regularly inspecting equipment, facilities, and playing areas.
• Teach and enforce proper safety protocols, including correct use of equipment and appropriate physical boundaries.
• Respond promptly to injuries and maintain accurate incident reports in accordance with school policy.
• Model and reinforce proper technique to prevent injuries and promote healthy movement habits.
• Assess students using a variety of methods including skill demonstrations, fitness testing, participation rubrics, self-assessments, and written components (rules, strategy, fitness concepts).
• Provide constructive feedback that focuses on technique improvement, effort, and individual growth.
• Track progress in physical skills, fitness levels, effort, sportsmanship, and personal goal achievement.
• Modify activities, intensity levels, and rules to ensure all students, including those with disabilities, injuries, or varying fitness levels, can participate meaningfully and safely.
• Provide alternative activities or roles for students unable to participate due to injury or medical restrictions.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of the classroom.
• Foster open communication with students, parents, and guardians regarding student progress, behavior, and any concerns.
• Hold parent-teacher conferences to discuss student development and address any issues.
• Collaborate with colleagues and participate in professional learning communities.
• Engage in continuous professional development to stay current with educational practices, technologies, and subject matter.
• Participate in school meetings, committees, and other professional activities as required.
• Prepare and submit reports, lesson plans, and other required documentation in a timely manner.
• Participate in school-wide initiatives and contribute to the development of school policies and programs.
• Provide guidance and support to students in their academic and personal development.
• Address and resolve any issues that may affect students’ learning and well-being.
• Encourage and support student involvement in extracurricular activities and school events.
• Adhere to school and district policies, including those related to student health and safety.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree
• Pass applicable background check
• AZ IVP Fingerprint Card
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education or related field
• AZ Teacher Certificate
