Physical Education Teacher
Job Description:
The physical education department seeks a collaborative, energetic, and positive teacher to instruct students in grades 9-12. The ideal candidate has strong knowledge and skills in related physical education activities and can execute lessons in a positive environment that promotes healthy lifestyles. The ideal candidate is a qualified teacher with the following characteristics:
• Values and seeks to understand the cultural and social identities of each student in class;
• Integrates culturally responsive practices into daily teaching;
• Demonstrates leadership and effective communication skills with a variety of stakeholders and community members;
• Utilizes instructional strategies and practices that are best practices in the field of Physical Education/Health;
• Creates and executes strong lessons considering student needs, ability levels, interests, classroom performance, and assessment results that are clear and well-organized;
• Establishes a trusting environment that fosters risk-taking;
• Assists the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct; for the classroom, develops reasonable rules and classroom routines that promote a safe and positive classroom culture;
• Participates in professional development to enhance instruction.
Qualifications:
BA/BS in Physical Education or Kinesiology
Illinois PEL
MA/MS or MEd preferred
Experience teaching strenghth and conditioning

Salary Range:
Minimum/Starting - Maximum $48,000 - $98,000
