Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A Special Education Teacher position is available at an elementary school in Portland, OR, serving grades K-5. This role involves working in an Emotional Resource Classroom (ERC) with students who have mild to moderate disabilities. The position is full-time (1.0 FTE), Monday through Friday, from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, managing a caseload of approximately 36 students.
Key responsibilities include:
• Creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment tailored to students academic, social, intellectual, and physical development.
• Implementing instructional strategies that promote meaningful inclusion, with the goal of transitioning students into general education settings when appropriate.
• Collaborating with colleagues, families, and related service providers to support student growth.
• Monitoring and documenting student progress and adapting lessons to meet individual needs.
Qualifications:
• Current Teaching Service Plan (TSP) teaching license is required; preference given to those with a Special Education endorsement.
• Experience in Special Education, specifically working with elementary-aged students with mild to moderate disabilities.
• Bilingual Spanish skills are preferred but not required.
