RESPONSIBILITIES
• Build strong relationships with scholars, families, administrators, and PATH team members.
• Demonstrate an understanding of The PATH School’s vision, mission, and core values.
• Support scholar well-being—physically, socially, and emotionally.
• Serve as the direct point of contact for parent communication related to discipline.
• Assist teachers in identifying and developing individualized behavior interventions.
• Review referrals and implement appropriate interventions for scholars needing additional support.
• Provide support to scholars with impulsive behaviors, low self-esteem, or impaired social skills.
• Collect and analyze data (attendance, observations, grades, assessments, etc.) to improve student engagement and reduce disciplinary incidents.
• Communicate consistently and professionally with school staff and families.
• Collaborate with school leadership to create strategic plans addressing discipline trends and classroom culture.
• Maintain accurate and complete student records as required by law and school policy.
• Manage scholar behavior and uphold schoolwide discipline expectations.
• Assist with daily operational duties, including hall monitoring, cafeteria support, and bus arrival/dismissal.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
• Prior teaching experience (Preferred)
• Bilingual (Preferred)
• Pass a criminal background check (Required)
• Ability to build caring relationships with scholars and families
• Knowledge of positive behavioral interventions and conflict resolution strategies
• Experience creating and implementing student behavior expectations
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to model effective behavioral systems
• Professional communication skills (meetings, calls, emails)
• Excellent listening, organization, and decision-making abilities
• Experience working with a diverse population of scholars and staff
EXPECTATIONS
• Attend professional meetings, conferences, and training workshops to maintain and improve professional competence.
• Participate in school-wide and individual professional development, including two weeks during the summer and weekly department meetings.
• Attend and support events outside regular school hours (family nights, student performances, field trips, family conferences, Back-to-School Nights, etc.).
• Maintain regular, punctual attendance Monday–Friday.
• Operate computers and school technology (Microsoft Office, copiers, email/texting apps, etc.).
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
• Ability to stand for ⅔ of the workday
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
• Ability to work in an environment with above-average noise levels
