Ascension Day School is a welcoming preschool located in the Lake Highlands, Dallas area, dedicated to nurturing early childhood development through engaging and enriching programs. Our school operates from September to May, offering flexible attendance options for children aged 12 months to 5 years old, with a focus on creating a joyful learning environment.
Overview
We are seeking a passionate and energetic Kindergarten Teacher to join our team and inspire young learners. In this role, you will create a welcoming classroom atmosphere that promotes curiosity, social-emotional growth, and foundational skills. Your enthusiasm and expertise will help shape the early educational experiences of our students, fostering a love for learning that lasts a lifetime.
Skills:
• Experience in early childhood education settings.
• Strong knowledge of childhood development principles and curriculum development.
• Excellent communication skills for working with children, parents, and colleagues.
• Strong classroom management and organizational skills
• Commitment to Christian education and collaborative teamwork
• Creating simple lesson plans/themes for their class (support available if this is not a proficient skill),
• Communicating with director
Duties:
• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with early childhood education standards, including literacy, math, and social skills.
• Foster a positive classroom environment through effective classroom management and behavior guidance strategies.
• Mentor and collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and improve instructional techniques.
Details:
• Class size: 8–12 students
• No classroom aide; float and administrative support provided
Schedule options:
• Minimum: Monday–Thursday, 8:30 AM–2:30 PM (24 hours/week)
• Full schedule: Monday–Thursday, 7:30 AM–3:00 PM (up to 30 hours/week)
Applicants will be:
• background checked (including fingerprinting if necessary), for licensing purposes,
• given appropriate orientation and training relating to the position and the organization,
• expected to complete training hours within a reasonable amount of time.
Pay: $20.00 - $26.00 per hour
