POSITION SUMMARY: Camp Summit is seeking forward thinking, committed education professionals to join our dynamic summer camp team. Our summer camp program is for bright children entering grades 1-8 who struggle with reading, writing and math. Experience in a systematic, multisensory, phonics approach to teaching reading and spelling decoding is very desirable. Full Time positions are available.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelor’s degree in education or related field.
2. Experience working with children with language-based learning differences preferred 3. Computer literacy in Google for Education Suite
4. Knowledge of and experience utilizing student assessment tools.
5. Ability to work in the State of MD and pass an FBI and CJIS Background Check 6. Excellent interpersonal skills.
7. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
8. Ability to communicate with parents, coworkers, campers and visitors in a pleasant and professional manner.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Maintains sight and sound supervision of a group of children
2. Ensures developmentally appropriate adult-child interactions.
3. Plans and implements program activities in literacy and math to maintain a child’s academic level and summer reading loss prevention.
4. Differentiates instruction based on student levels
5. Creates weekly emails that reflect and effectively communicate topics and curriculum covered that week.
6. Attends twice weekly staff meetings
7. Attends Mandatory Camp Training on June 24, 2026
8. Maintains positive relationships with parents, children and coworkers. 9. Full Time Staff Only:
a. Implements pre-planned afternoon recreation activities
b. Maintains a clean recreation area daily
STATUS/HOURS:
- Full-Time Hours: 8 am-3:30 pm
SALARY/PAY RATE:
- Full-Time: $3,650
